Shropshire Star reports M6 Toll Road extension plans are 'on hold'.

The Shropshire Star have reported that plans for a £70m extension of the M6 Toll have been put on hold amid a series of government cuts.

The scheme is seen as crucial for businesses and commuters and is to be reviewed "to ensure the design is the best possible, and to see if there are better ways to sequence the work."

Transport Secretary, Philip Hammond' said that the scheme will not enter construction until at least 2015, meaning that the project will not be part of any funding plan in the lifetime of this Parliament.
