A spokesmans for the Rural Payments Agency, Simon Luniss, reports that the move to encourage online applications for support schemes, such as Single Farm Payment, has received a warn reception from farmers. More than 16,000 producers had used the online service for their Single Farm Payment in 2010 and the aim is to double this number next year.
"Online applications will help us to meet cost-cutting targets", he said. "Feedback has indicated that 98% of farmers would use the online system again, with 96% happy to recommend the service to others". He went on to say that one advantage of the online applications is the ability to re-open, re-submit and correct any mistakes instantly. Applications would be automatically checked for common errors, and an on-screen receipt is available. However, supporting documents would still have to be sent by post.
This is all well and good if there are only a few simple changes to your application. However we find that there are still a great many of our clients who prefer us to help them complete the forms to ensure they are done correctly and submitted on time. If you need help with your Single Farm Payment application next year don't hesitate to contact us.
