Fertiliser and fuel prices on the up.

According to the latest Farmers Weekly / NFU Inputs Price Monitor, both fertiliser and fuel prices firmed last month.

Ammonium nitrate prices averaged £255/t in October, up £25/t from the previous month, while red and white diesel prices rose slightly to average 52p/litre and 99p per litre respectively.

Peter Garbutt, NUF regulatory affairs adviser said:  "Domestic ammonium nitrate is trading well above this level, illustrating how quickly the market has moved.  As we approach the end of the year though, it appears that this pace is easing and the market will settle short of £300/t over Christmas."
