The former Managing Director of the Child Support Agency is to take over as Chief Executive of the Rural Payment Agency.
Mark Grimshaw will take up the fole on Monday 17th January and will take over from interim Chief Exec Richard Judge. In a statement Defra said Mr Grimshaw would bring "and extensive track record in improving performance and customer focus in the private and public sector".
Defra said that Mr Grimshaw's role in improving performance at the CSA had been widely acknowledged and it is hoped that his experience will help solve problems at the RPA.
Mr Grimshaw said: “I am very pleased with my appointment as the chief executive officer of the RPA, and I am extremely keen to engage with a wide range of stakeholders as I set about transforming the RPA into a modern, customer focussed organisation.
“I am also very enthusiastic about spending time with RPA people to understand their current issues and concerns.”
