Meet the Experts
Louise is Managing Partner of Barbers Rural Consultancy. Her areas of expertise are Business Management, Marketing, Human Resources and Strategic Business Development. An experienced facilitator and RICS qualified mediator, Louise specialises in Succession Planning for farming families nationwide.
Louise has a Master of Science in Rural Estate and Land Management from Harper Adams University and a Master of Arts in Humans Resources Management. She is also a member of the Agricultural Law Association and speaks extensively at national conferences about her facilitative approach to Succession Planning.
The daughter of an agricultural merchant, Louise is Shropshire born and bred. Married to Mike, with whom she manages the business, Louise is a keen sportswoman enjoying tennis and snow-skiing and on a daily basis derives great pleasure from training her young gun dogs, Teddy and Ginny. Louise and Mike spend as much time as possible in the mountains, particularly Snowdonia where they enjoy walking and sailing. Rather more sedately Louise is a keen cook and experienced knitter - she is never happier than when cooking for her family.
Louise is also Managing Director of Taylor Millbrook Ltd which specialises in Business Development, Cultural Change and Succession Planning. She has qualified as an Evaluative Mediator with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and uses these skills to facilitate a wide variety of 'difficult conversations' for dispute resolution issues.
Louise’s claim to fame: Louise once travelled non-stop on a bus from San Francisco to New York – she hasn’t been on a bus since!
